In keeping with our Chapter President's vision for this year "to encourage the important relationship between Ikebana and our home environment" she welcomes members and guests to her own home to launch the 2013-2014 year.
This event is a membership drive and we encourage members to bring guests who might be interested to join our chapter.
Programme
Floral demonstration by Ikebana International Singapore chapter members, Sally Lee and Phyllis Tan. Apart from being active members in the Singapore chapter they are also involved with Floral Harmony at Nanyang where they teach and conduct floral workshops for primary and secondary school students.
Sally is chairperson at Floral Harmony and Phyllis is on the organizing committee. Phyllis also won Best Theme Creative Award at the Singapore Flower Festival in 2002.
Furoshiki demonstration by our own Mrs Shizuyo Hirohi. Members will be receiving a gift of a furoshiki printed with our chapter's logo on it and Mrs Hirohi will be demonstrating various ways to use it.
Floral Arrangements by past president Shirley Cheah's Sogetsu students will be showcased around our President's home.
There will be containers and furoshikis available for sale.
