Demonstration
Ms. Lansing Chen, our guest demonstrator is a past president of Ikebana International Taiwan Chapter 105 and Organizing Chairman of the 13th Asian II Conference held recently in Taipei. She is a practitioner of the Shofu-Ryu (Shofu School) since 1971 and founder of the Shofu Ikebana Association in Taiwan which she is a past president.

This school was founded by first generation Headmistress Oshigawa Joshui in 1916. It was introduced into Taiwan in 1940. Shofu Ikebana Association was established in March 20, 2001 by a group of Shofu-Ryu teachers in Taiwan. The traditional Shofu-Ryu ikebana advocates expression of the beauty of nature and hardly uses any artificial material, yet it has less restriction of classical rules of arrangement than other Ikebana schools. It features lively expression, vivid colors, creativity and modern spirit. Lately it also has various creative and experimental ikebana styles, to accommodate the versatility of modern life.
