President’s Welcome Speech
Good afternoon everyone!
Thank you all for coming to
our second event of Ikebana International J.B.'s 2014/2015 program. Today's
theme is "A Rainbow of Autumn Colours" and it is a celebration of our
diversity and friendship. Today, I'd like us all to think about all the
friendships in our lives as a rainbow - everyone we know is a little different,
but when we come together, we can make something beautiful. Just like the many
different colours of the rainbow. Many
of our members here have brought friends, and I would like to extend a warm
welcome to you for joining us today.
I would also like to thank
our friends & guests from our sister chapter, Ikebana International
Singapore, who are here with us today. I am pleased to be able to welcome Ms
Viola Yong, from I.I. Singapore, who will be leading our demonstration during
the lunch hour. Viola is the President of I.I. Singapore and has been
practicing Sogetsu for 14 years. We are honoured to have her share her
experience and creativity with us. .
Today, we will also have a sale of Indonesian crafts from handbags to batik scarfs and even curry paste.
