Programme for Opening
The exhibition, housed in the entrance lobby of the the Thistle will be opened by the Consul of Japan to Johor Mr. Tetsumi Murata at 11am, 22nd May 2013 followed by lunch and an ikebana demonstration of the Ohara School by Mrs Rekha Reddy, President of Ikebana International, Hyderabad Chapter. Exhibition
Members of the club and invited guests from our neighbouring Singapore Chapter have been challenged this year to create an ikebana arrangement interpreting a single word of their choice. For our recent press conference to publicize the event, board members, Datin Ong Kid Ching and Mrs Shirley Cheah previewed their creations, displaying their skills in the Ohara and Sogetsu style. They chose the words 'Embrace' and 'Grace'.
